CHLOE INEZ HAS A BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Can you believe Chloe will be two years old on Sunday, July 26? Seems like yesterday we were eagerly awaiting her appearance! Her great mommie and daddy are giving her a beach party at beautiful Point Dume State Beach in Malibu! What fun! I can't wait to see the video and photos. She has been practicing saying, "I two."

CHIP'S NEWS

Chip is in Nashville today attending an SEC (Southeastern Conference) referee's meeting. He was so happy to get all his info and just to know he now going to be on "the circuit." NCAA football is just around the corner. Can't wait!

MATT AND SHANNON GET MARRIED

This past weekend we went to Chattanooga for the wedding of the son of two of my oldest and dearest friends. I have known Matt's dad, Bill Markham since we both attended Randolph Street Church of Christ in Huntsville some 60 odd years ago. Matt's mom, Donna Markham Ramsey and I have been friends for over 35 years. Man! Are we getting old or what?
Shannon was a beautiful bride. Hey Chip and Stew! Do you remember Cindy Sexton? She's still pretty!

Donna was a glamorous "Mother of the Groom"

Dick relaxing in Bill and Gail's motor home. They were nice enough to park it on a lakeside lot and let us spend the weekend there. It was so nice.

Donna, Mandy (Bill's daughter), P.J. (Mandy's husband) and Gail (Bill's wife)

Donna and her husband Charles

Bill and Dick enjoy the toasts

Gail is all smiles.

Matt and Dad

Shannon and her sister

We had a wonderful time! Friday night we feasted on Filet Mignon at the Rehearsal Dinner and the Wedding Reception food was fantastic. Why do I judge trips by the food eaten? On Sunday, while Dick and Bill played golf, I visited my cousin, Tom Durham who lives in Chattanooga. What a great visit we had!!! I miss him.

Tommy's vintage golf cart. An original Harley-Davidson. I didn't know Harley Davidson made golf carts! Wonder where he gets that white hair?

CHIP AND PEYTON VISIT

Scenes from JH Ranch...........

Saturday Night, June 20th: After spending a wonderful week at JH Ranch in northern California, Chip and Peyton stopped by on their way home from the Atlanta airport. We had a great time listening to their stories about that awesome Christian ranch and all the fun they had. Chip took Parker last year and was eager to share the bonding experience with Peyton. We stayed up way too late talking, but were so happy to have them spend the night with us.

Memories!

As I was looking for a picture for the blog I found this old clipping of my hubby. It's so funny because he is the most apolitical person I know. Then he was a Democrat, now he is a Conservative Republican. Time has a way of changing things. If you click on the picture it should enlarge enough for you to read the article.

RANDOM HAPPENINGS!!

Oops! Looks like I am late again saying my happy birthdays to family......Sorry...This has been a hectic two weeks. Hope next two are better!

KatieBeth Doss (my nephew Bo's daughter) had her 17th birthday June 13. Katie Beth lives in Decatur and will be a high school senior next year. As you can see she is a beautiful young lady. The good news is she is equally beautiful inside. Ma would have been so proud of this true southern belle. Mimi and Uncle Dick love you so much KB.........
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!!

Our brother-in-law, Tom Prosser, had his @#$% birthday on Jun 11th. Tom and Shirley (Dick's sister) live in Houston, Texas and spend a huge amount of time traveling around this great country and foreign ones as well. Tom has retired more than anyone I know. Seems as though lots of foreign businesses need his expertise and pull him out of retirement time and time again. Happy birthday bro, we love ya.
And, now back by popular demand: Stewart sent some "random Chloe's for Aunt Laureen" and I thought I would just add them to my blog. Can't get too many Chloe's. She can brighten anybody's day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIP

Saturday, May 23rd, was Chip's birthday. What a day for celebration! Chip is such an awesome man and I am so lucky to be his mother.

We drove over to Tuscaloosa on Sunday to party with Chip, Heidi, Parker and Peyton.

We went to Mr. G's for lunch really enjoyed our special time together.

Dick and I took the pictures. We must have been experiencing a "dizzy spell." Oh well, just fasten your seat belts before you view the photos.

Aren't Peyton and Parker just too handsome? They are such good boys and I am one proud grandmama.

IT'S CATCHUP TIME

Whew! It's been so busy lately I've gotten behind on my blog. Now I have to get myself up to date.

CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW POSITION RICH!

Richard has a new employer, Capital City Mechanical Services, Inc. They are a "very big" Heating and Air Conditioning outfit and Richard will work out of their Norcross, GA location. He has the job of National Director for Capital City. They are lucky to have you Rich!!

CHIP, PARKER AND PEYTON COME TO VISIT

What a wonderful Mother's Day! The boys drove over from Tuscaloosa in Parker's new ride. His Ford Explorer is just beautiful! Crimson, perfect for the rabid Alabama fan. Yea BAMA!! We had a great time, watching the Braves game, riding through the neighborhood in the golf cart and going out to eat. I am one lucky mother! The world's greatest sons and stepson and stepdaughter. Being able to be with, or hear from, them ("I wuv ew Gram" from Chloe is a special treat) on Mother's Day is God's gift to me. I am so blessed.

ALLAN'S CONFIRMATION

The last week of April we journeyed to south Alabama for grandson Allan's confirmation. We had a wonderful time visiting with Allan, Beth and Elizabeth. They have a new addition to their family, Scout, the German Shepherd puppy. Sooo cute! He joins Sam, the gentle giant (135 lb Golden Retriever) Dick was able to play a couple of days with his old Craft Farms (Gulf Shores) golf group. He had a great time. And, I enjoyed the outlet mall. Allan is growing into such a fine young man and we are very proud of him. When we lived in Gulf Shores it was easy to drive over to Mobile and visit with Beth, Elizabeth and Allan. We do miss that!

CHLOE'S BOO-BOO

Last week Chloe had her first trip to the ER due to a fall. Stew called it "Chloe vs. the chair - Round one - Chair 1 - Chloe 0. All is well now, but it was a scary time. She was a great, and entertaining, little patient until the doctor started cleaning the wound, then she him let him know how unhappy she was. Hmmmm....sounds just like her daddy. He could be very vocal when receiving medical treatment (what an understatement!).

MAE-MAE'S BIRTHDAY

Wednesday, May 6th, was Mae-Mae's 10th birthday. Mae Ellen is Rhett and Beth's baby daughter. She is so cute and sweet. Awesome blond curly hair and big beautiful eyes. Happy birthday Mae-Mae.

LUCY'S MARKET

Kim's new business is going great guns. Her customer base is getting bigger and bigger and she is now selling gift baskets. You Go Girl!!!!

RHETT AND MARLEY IN DENVER

Rhett took daughter Marley to a Grateful Dead Concert in Denver. Or is it Marley took daddy Rhett to a Grateful Dead Concert in Denver? Aren't they cute? Bet they had a great time!
